Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis
When making the piece, I had no idea what to expect. I had the idea from the very beginning to be very visual and almost act put every lyric. With that however, came a lot of struggles along the way. The opening scene mentions the main character is pregnant and right off the bat, I had an image in my head for what I wanted to film. However, due to personal reasons, I wasn’t able to film a lot of what I needed with the more mature lyrics. I improvised and in all honesty had a blast with it. Over the course of three weeks, I gathered footage consisting of streets around Houston, friends who were willing to act for me, and more. The editing process was pretty simple, I wanted to keep it clean cut with no extravagant edits.
Being able to go through each lyric and come up with my own story for it was so exciting. I learned so much about pacing and story through this piece and every step of the process was a new experience.
