24 Frames – I Just Wanted to See You So Bad

First and foremost, thank you to my good friends, Samantha and Odalys, for agreeing to being part of my project. I’m thankful that they were patient and willing to work with me despite their schedules. It would not have been this good without them.

As I was reading through the lyrics that Professor Houk gave the class, “I Just Wanted to See You So Bad” was the one that appealed to me the most. It gave me creepy vibes and I just knew I had to do it. My personal goal for this project was to make the audience/viewer uncomfortable and convey the emotion that the pictures were showcasing.

The props on the stalker’s desk were by yours truly. It was fun yet unsettling when I was making the stalker board prop. When it came to the night scene, I had to make my own blue lighting. I used the same lamp shown on the desk with blue treat bags rubber banded over it. It worked great!

Since I was into analogue horror at the time, I knew I wanted the music to have an element of distortion. Miki and Miki the Witch from Devilman Crybaby were the perfect fit. I only kept the parts from the songs that I wanted and combined everything together into one soundtrack.

The hardest part was taking pictures at night. Finding the right settings and using a DIY blue lighting took awhile to take the pictures that I envisioned. Another difficulty was organizing the pictures to my liking. As I was trying different orders, I finally came to one that I believed had the most impact.

Overall, I am very proud of my work. Admittedly, I have watched it more times than I can count. Surely, this is something that I will look back on fondly.
